Step into the prehistoric past with us! Join paleontologist Gavin McCullough for a fascinating look at Dinosaurs of Arizona: A Legacy of 230 Million Years. Learn about the dinosaurs that have been discovered in Arizona; ongoing research—including Arizona’s first reported dinosaur eggshell—and explore a part of the incredible fossil legacy of our state.
This program is best for ages 10 and up. This is not a program suggested for young children due to the lecture format.
Gavin McCullough has worked as a professional paleontologist for over 20 years, with fieldwork and research in South Dakota, Arizona, and Sonora. He earned his MS in Paleontology from the South Dakota School of Mines, where he worked at his beloved Badlands National Park for three summers. His current research includes describing some of the ornithischian dinosaurs of Arizona, exploring early Ice Age faunas and environments, and early Miocene mammals from central Arizona. Gavin is Curator of Natural History at the Arizona Museum of Natural History.
